Ocean Week arrangeres av NTNU på tvers av lokasjonene Ålesund, Trondheim og Gjøvik.
NTNU inviterer næringsliv og andre interesserte til et faglig seminar i Ålesund under temaet «From seas of data to an ocean of knowledge». Representanter fra NTNU og næringslivet vil gi oss faglige oppdateringer på viktige tema innen klima, grønn omstilling, autonomi og plast i havet og diskutere hvilke muligheter og utfordringer dette gir.
Timeplan
Program
- 09.00 - 09.55
- How to deal with climate change
- Climate change is a complex and contentious issue. The outlook for the year 2070 is bleak. We can expect 50-70 cm higher water levels, extreme storm surges and 100 years of hurricanes annually. What does this future look like? How can we deal with it?
- 10.15 - 11.35
- How can we accelerate the green transition?
- The green shift will be challenging. We must reduce consumption, use renewable energy sources and carriers. Will the Generation IV nuclear power revolutionize energy supply and help realize the green transition?
- 12.15 - 13.25
- How do we deal with increased autonomy? Ships gain increased autonomy and are connected to the rest of the world.
- Distributed maritime capabilities where knowledge and competence are increasingly distributed to technology, procedures and regulations will change the role of the individual seafarers. Vessel positions, manoeuvres, speed, fuel consumption, cargo condition and so on can for example be monitored in control centres. Fleet managers will then be able to analyse this data, enabling them to advise the captain and crew on navigation, weather patterns, fuel consumption and port arrival. We will have distributed maritime capabilities as well as dispersed ship crew with other roles and responsibilities than we can see in present operations.
