Kom for å oppleve korsang på sitt beste!\n\nThe Iowa State Singers, a traveling mixed choral ensemble of 56 voices will concertize in Norway May 14-26, singing in Oslo, Bergen, Førde, Loen, Ålesund, Molde, and Trondheim. This select ensemble from Iowa State University, U.S.A. performs the finest choral repertoire from Renaissance to contemporary. This year’s program includes historical composers Sweelinck, Bruckner, Grieg, Nystedt, Frank Martin, and newer pieces by Runestad, Ferrario, Mäntyjärvi, and Rahman. Arrangements of folk music and spirituals will conclude the program.\n\nThe Iowa State Singers have been honored in recent years with invitations to perform at the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) and the National Collegiate Choral Organization (NCCO) national music conferences in 2005, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2015, and 2019. Thousands of choral conductors from the United States and abroad have responded enthusiastically to the choir’s performances. In 2013 the Singers were honored as the national winners of The American Prize, College/University Chorus Division.\n\nExquisite! One of the best choral ensembles we have heard!– Primarily A Cappella\n\nA world-class choir…– Eric Whitacre\n\nJames Rodde, Professor and Director of Choral Activities at Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa since 2000, conducts the Iowa State Singers, the Iowa Statesmen, and teaches choral conducting and literature. He is of full Norwegian heritage and eagerly looks forward to conducting his choir in Norway.\n
