DESCRIPTION:Velkommen til performance og artist talk med Kirsty Kross \n\nDet blir mulighet for forfriskninger i baren.\n\nKirsty Kross in an artist’s talk/performance lecture featuring her new artistic alter ego, Kari Max as well as Shania Twain, Adele and Pepsi Max stunts!\nKirsty Kross explores Norway’s obsession with Pepsi Max through her new artistic alter ego, Kari Max, a real estate agent from Bærum dealing with “the crisis”- in her marriage. Currently Norwegians are the greatest consumers of Pepsi Max comprising around 9% of the sugar-free soda’s global market. Kirsty Kross links this contemporary trend with Norway’s continued fossil fuel production and ambitious plans to reduce carbon emissions by pumping and storing massive amounts of liquified (fizzy) CO2 beneath the North Sea. In doing so, the Kari Max series of works explores the conditions, emotions and ethics of maintaining a maximum lifestyle (with maximum taste) in one of Europe’s most consumerist nations during the era of the climate crisis.\n\nKirsty Kross is an eco-feminist artist whose practice spans performance, happenings, music, drawing and installation. Her work focuses largely on human relationships to the attention economy and increasing ecological, economic and political uncertainties. She experiments in engaging audiences with these difficult themes through darkly, absurd humorous interventions that aim to disrupt and reconfigure social, public and/or institutional frameworks and codes.\n\nhttp://www.kirstykross.com\n
